The IB Primary Years Programme (PYP)

At Wells International School Bang Na, the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme (PYP) guides our approach to teaching and learning. The PYP is an internationally recognized framework designed for students aged 3 to 12 that focuses on developing curious, thoughtful, and compassionate learners who are prepared to engage with the world around them.

The PYP encourages students to become active participants in their own learning. Rather than simply memorizing information, students ask questions, explore ideas, and investigate real world topics through inquiry based learning. Teachers guide students through meaningful learning experiences that help them develop critical thinking, problem solving, collaboration, and communication skills.

Inquiry-Based Learning

Inquiry is at the heart of the PYP. At Wells Bang Na, students explore important concepts through Units of Inquiry that connect multiple subject areas such as language, mathematics, science, social studies, and the arts. These units encourage students to investigate big ideas, make connections between subjects, and understand how learning applies to the real world. Students are encouraged to take action based on their learning, whether through community service, environmental initiatives, or projects that support their school and local community.
